Another Radar Brothers album to add to Chemikal's arsenal and we couldn't be more delighted at having them back in the saddle again. Operating at a pace approximating that of continental drift, Radar Brothers are most certainly not in the speedcore business but that's exactly why we love them so much. Reconstituted after several lineup changes and with their name extended to its full, unabbreviated glory, Radar Brothers are now Jim Putnam (the one constant throughout the years and always the key songwriter), Be Hussey on bass and Steve Treichel on drums.

Retaining their sun-dappled, slacker-esque Californian sound, Radar Brothers continue to hark back to the laconic, stoned-out West Coast-psyche of the 70's. With Jim's vocals allied to a more urgent (that's obviously urgent in a Radar Brothers sense) rhythm section, 'The Illustrated Garden' recalls what many people consider to be their finest album: 2002's 'And The Surrounding Mountains'.
