The physical manufacture of this, the final single from 'Into The Woods' was thwarted by the biblical axe-wielding of Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite. True story. Planned as another 7" vinyl release, 'Break My Heart' was to be backed with the charmingly titled 'A Moaning Shite'. Trouble was though, Stuart committed a face melting guitar solo onto the end of the track and every single test pressing we received just sounded crap because of the enormous leap in sound on the track.

Stewart and Paul from the label were moonlighting as Malcolm's bass player and drummer at the time and were over in Scandinavia when the news of the fraught manufacturing broke. Time was against us and we reluctantly decided to restrict the single to download only. That's what happens when you invite Mogwai into your recording sessions...
