Inspirationally unhinged Glaswegians deliver a handclap-heavy, properly odd hybrid of synth punk, doo-wop and rockabilly which suggests The Cramps, Stranglers and erm, Kid Creole And The Coconuts. It's a gnat's whisker away from a mess and it's marvellous.

Scottish oddness from Chemikal Underground is as predictable as Tim Henman having his hols booked for the second week of Wimbledon, but Mother And The Addicts is oddness we can accept. Oddness that resembles Tom Waits making percussion out of Brian Eno's bald head. Odd. But good.
