A complete re-working of 'Lullaby For Unborn Child' from Aidan's 'How To get To Heaven From Scotland' album, 'Knock On The Wall Of Your Womb' features the Mansionhouse Ensemble (Alun Woodward between you and me) and is a particularly touching and poignant piece of work.
It wouldn't be Aidan of course if the release didn't look the part and this extraordinarily limited 7" is no exception, with a cover image courtesy of Leonardo Da Vinci and a back cover featuring a genuinely washed-out, supine Mr Moffat on the floor of the delivery room during the birth of his son.
The B-Side of the single features another Aidan gem, this time a childrens' story (where the Hell should the apostrophe go there??), penned and narrated by the man himself entitled The Lavender Blue Dress. Performances of this story apparently went down a storm at the Reading, Leeds and Across The Borders Festivals and the only place you can get this story is on this here single, so don't be a slouch as there have only been 500 made.
As is always the case nowadays, vinyl releases are accompanied with zip files so you can listen to these tracks on the hoof (assuming you don't carry a turntable around with you) and as a special treat, if you purchase the 7" or digital single, we'll also include the video of the single which features actual footage of Aidan during the birth of his son - suffice to say Mr Moffat's constituion seemed to take a bit of a battering...
