NotesOK, we need to explain what this "Filthy Version" thing is all about and if we stray into uncharted waters of confusion and wilfull obscurity then we apologise in advance...
Clearly never coming to terms (over the course of a 10 year career) with the notion that songs earmarked for singles shouldn't contain sexual expletives, Aidan takes all of 27 seconds before threatening to break someone's "fucking wrist". Belatedly realising that such language wouldn't curry favour with the nation's radio producers, the lyric was altered from "fucking wrist" to "filthy wrist", thereby rendering the 'clean' version the 'filthy' version and consigning us all to a life sentence of bewilderment...
Pointless Trivia: the video for this song was directed by none other than ex-Skids frontman and director of "Sixteen Years Of Alcohol" Richard Jobson. The fact that Aidan and Malcolm don't appear in the video is down to the fact that the footage was actually taken from Jobson's film "A Woman In Winter." |
